Annandale Pokémon Fan Steals $1.1K Worth Of Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards In Stafford: Sheriff

Philpott, a 33-year-old Annandale resident, was arrested and charged with grand larceny after he was caught stealing more than $1,100 worth of Pokémon cards from Target in Stafford on Wednesday, Aug. 23, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.

At 10:53 a.m., police were called to the Target after a report of a man shoplifting who was about to leave the store, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Officers waited outside the store for Philpott to leave and then they attempted to stop him, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.

Philpott attempted to flee before giving up and being apprehended, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Aside from Pokémon cards, Philpott was also found to have snatched Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.

After he was apprehended, police discovered Philpott was also wanted in Prince William County for grand larceny and in Stafford County for failure to appear, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
